Many people have used fear as an acronym, I think this one is from Mark Waldman of Neurogym, but I’m not positive.

It’s completely true.  Many times we have fear that is completely unfounded and does not serve us.  Fear plays a role in our survival, don’t get me wrong, but false fear….  well that just cripples us and limits us.  It is in our best interest to put that kind of fear in its place.

My dog Raki, who is like my child, was recently diagnosed with diabetes.  I had a greater than normal fear and hatred of needles when I was told that me beloved pet would need an injection twice a day for the rest of his life.  I turn my eyes away when someone is getting a shot on TV, so this was terrifying news for me.  But I know better than to let fear dictate my life, I would do anything for my dog, so I put on my brave face and decided that I could be a hero for my dog and learn to give a shot.  After the first shot, I could not believe I had been so afraid.  It was completely simple, Raki doesn’t even feel it and he started to feel better almost instantly.

Don’t let fear keep you from living the life you love!  Put on your brave hero mode and put your fears in their place.  Have an amazing weekend!  Much love.

A Fine Line

Every subject is two subjects.  The thing and the lack of the thing.  Money and lack of money.  Health and lack of health. Love and lack of love. Sometimes we can think that we are thinking about something that we really wish for, but what we are really doing is shining the light on our lack.  And we attract more lack.  Learning to REALLY pay attention to what we are noticing is such an important life skill.  Are you really looking forward with eager anticipation to the manifestation of your dreams, or are you keeping score and lamenting that your desires have not yet been fulfilled? Pay attention.  Be in love with this moment and vibrating in harmony with your fondest desire.  Make it a wonderful day!

    Very brief back story.

    When I am trying to get to a recipe I want to get right to it without scrolling through a lot of prose, so I will get to the recipe very quickly.  At this stage of my  journey, I have a goal of less then 50 grams of carbs daily, around 55 grams of protein and the rest of my calories from healthy fats.  I use myfitnesspal.com to track my macronutrients and make adjustments at dinner time to round out the day as much as possible.  This is surprisingly easy.  At this time, I only had a few grams of protein to go, a little more leeway with carbs, and of course unlimited fat, so this is what I devised.  Feel free to substitute whatever veggies you have handy, zucchini, broccoli, cauliflower or even leafy greens like lettuce or spinach if you like.   All recipes are for one unless otherwise specified so the math is easy to feed your lover or your family too.

     

    INGREDIENTS

    2 Oz. grassfed ground beef browned
    1 oz. goat cheese
    1 cup mixed chopped bell peppers
    1 slice red onion chopped
    1/2 medium avocado
    1 TBS Organic Olive Oil
    Pink Himalayan Sea Salt
    Chili Powder
    Freshly ground black pepper
    1 TBS Sour cream

     

    Sprinkle of Cayenne (optional)

     

    Instructions

    Mix beef and cheese in ramekin or other oven safe dish and sprinkle generously with chili powder to taste.  You can add some cayenne here if you like it really spicy.  Pop in the toaster oven or oven for 10 minutes at 350.  The beef is already cooked so this is just for warming up and softening the cheese.  Adjust time accordingly.

    While beef and cheese are heating, chop peppers, (take this opportunity to slice the whole pepper to have handy for snacks or salads) onion and avocado, add olive oil, salt and pepper and mix together.  Top with beef mixture, add sour cream and enjoy!  Delicious!

    Fat – 38 grams
    Carbs – 14 grams
    Protein – 20 grams

    Just A Number

    EMBRACE CHANGE

    Over the last year there have been a lot of changes for my body.  Turning 52 and all that goes with that and putting down my beloved electronic cigarette are at the top of that list.  A new phase of life and recovering from a lifelong habit/addiction have presented great challenges.  One of those challenges;  I am carrying around about 20 extra pounds that I don’t like, but they REALLY like me!   In the summer of 2016, right before I quit “smoking” I was creating a program called “Be Happy and Grow Fit”, a weight loss and self-esteem building program.  I abandoned that program when I acquired my new friends (lbs 124-144) because I thought I had lost credibility.  I am re-considering that, however, because these challenges are teaching me a LOT that is going to be of great service to those I help with that program.  More details on that as they evolve.

    CELEBRATE YOUR WINS

    For now, don’t let the number on the scales have the power to make you cry.  Weigh, of course.  Weigh daily because what you measure you can change, but treat that number as just one small piece of a much larger puzzle, as just the useful and interesting information that it is.  If you are releasing unwanted pounds and the scales reflect that, by all means take the opportunity to celebrate and milk all the joy you can from that.  BUT, if the number isn’t changing or is going up, make note, and then turn your attention to other things you can celebrate.  Maybe you feel great, or you have fantastic energy, or your skin is glowing.  Perhaps you sleep like an angel and you’re in love with your new self-care rituals.  Maybe, like my client who inspired this post, your pants are looser and you’re notching up your belt.   Focus on what pleases you.  Be grateful and happy and basking in the thousands of things that are going “right”.  Love your life and your body and they will love you back.

    This quote was on the first page of a brand new journal that was a gift to me from a student and I feel compelled to share how this simple gift package contained so many gifts.  And how the ripple from this one small action can be so very very huge.  Mona sent me a journal, a little wooden stand with a handful of affirmation cards, a beautiful card and a couple of very sweet, personal notes.  It was all wrapped in pretty paper with special touches like stickers and stamps. Gorgeous in every way.  Just the act of opening it was a treasure.  The journal I will use multiple times every day and will think or the gifter with love and appreciation every single time.  The notes and cards went on to my vision board so that I am reminded every morning that I am having an impact on the lives of others in a very positive way.  I have a new standard for myself for how I will give gifts in the future and I am so grateful for this example.

    We are all presenting the gift of ourselves to the world every day.  What if we did that with the love and care and attention to detail that Mona used in preparing and sending this gift?  How rich does that thought feel; to wrap up every smile or hug or kiss with exquisite presence and attention to the moment.  To give the gift of our words or our time with love and care.  I am so in love with life and these amazing gifts that just show up.  All the time.

    If you are starting or growing a service based business, looking for your soul mate, or building a customer base as a sales person, a great way to start attracting the types of people you want in your life is to BE that type of person.  This means, of course that you have to first know what your ideal client looks like.  Create a Client Avatar that is as specific and rich and detailed as you know how to make it.  Include everything that matters to you.  This does not mean that you won’t serve people who fall outside of this description, you are just creating a very clear vision or picture for all of the forces of the Universe to work with.  Once you have that very clear picture, begin to BE that type of client in your own life.  Here is an example of a version of my avatar client.

    She is between the ages of 40 and 60 and is a salesperson or business owner (or wants to be).  She has studied or been exposed to Universal Principles like the Law of Attraction, the Law of Vibration and positive psychology.  She realizes that it is not only possible, but her right to have an amazing life in every way and she is eagerly seeking ways to live that dream quickly, with ease and grace.  She understands the value of coaching and mentoring and having a structure of study and is willing to invest her time, money and energy into the pursuit of her dream.  She pays up front with complete willingness, always comes to her appointments prepared and on time.  She brings an open mind, the mind of a student or a child to every lesson and tries everything on for herself before dismissing any new idea.  She loves getting in better touch with her highest nature and becoming a better version of herself every day.  She is a thirsty sponge, dedicated to developing a mindset that is “open to everything and attached to nothing.”  She is more and more in love with her life every day and is eager to share what she is learning with others and to bring them along on her journey.  She is involved and invested in class and openly shares her thoughts and experiences, bringing even greater value to the group experience.  She is a bright shining light!  I love her and feel so blessed to be included in her journey.

    I re-write and revise this avatar all the time and I LOVE the practice every single time!  And this is the kind of student I attract and the type of experiences that are happening in my newly formed groups.  Now that I have a clear picture of her, it is time to BE her.  I am always studying and learning, in programs of structure and support for my own growth, and I strive to show up for my coaches in just the same way that I want my students to show up for me.  Not only does this help me to attract the kind of client I want for my business, but it exponentially increases my results in my other “classes.”  I am currently in a program with Dannie Frey of Ready Set Go! Leveraging Your Time, and I recognize some paradigms rearing their ugly heads.  For instance, I have a rebel inside my head.  A know-it-all that wants to argue with things.  The rebel doesn’t get banished, but she does get corralled to her proper place and that is NOT in a position to inhibit my growth.  I am reminded to be a student, to be open to everything, to look for something new to learn…. and in doing this, I get better at it.  The beautiful spiral continues and everything just gets better and better!  Delicious!  Lol!

    I got carried away with this post, but the message is this.  Be the person that you want to have in your life.  The client, the friend, the lover, the worker……  You get to make all of the choices.  Have an amazing day!
